In Benevento, a new Erasmus+ intercultural youth exchange about migrations. “L.E.D.U.T.” (LET’S ENJOY DIFFERENCES AND UNIQUENESS TOGETHER!) will take place, from 17th to 28th November; it was born before the pandemic and was conceived by the YMCA Parthenope Onlus, whose members, Ramona, Antonio and Gianluca, also accompanied by Zoe and Flavia, will develop issues related to migration, such as hospitality, racism and interactions, through activities which methodologically refer to non-formal education.
The partners involved, some already known thanks to the ongoing EXODUS project relating to the training of adults in the creation of a support network for migrants, are the following European associations: from Germany Alrahallah Theater Berlin; from Greece, Breaking the Borders; from the Macedonian republic CET Platform Skopje; from Spain Asociacion Intercambia; from Portugal Rosto Solidario and from Turkey, International Labor Association.
The gropu leaders of these associations met in Benevento from 1st to 4th October 2021 and during the APV they were able to get to know the LEDUT locations and improve the activities of the youth exchange itself, while maintaining the focus on migration, art and community.
Most of the Italian participants will be migrants, as asylum seekers and political refugees, so as many European participants, others will be second generations and volunteers interested in the theme of migration and with a desire to experiment activities that aim at a greater perception of the Self and the Other.
Together with 42 young people included in the age group between 20 and 25 years and interested in these issues, coming from partner countries, we will implement the activities that stimulate both the knowledge of migration issues and the openness to the Other and to your encounter through art and nature. There will be photographic cooperation activities in the territory of Benevento and its province, activities related to in-depth interviews that will be carried out with asylum seekers, political refugees, SAI operators (of the consortium Sale della Terra= “Salt of the Earth”) and a part with citizens on the perception and experience of the meaning of migrations. We will implement volunteering and intercultural dinners that will be activated by a specific country and will be useful to discover not only distant tastes, but also dances, theatrical or musical sections of the specific country that will animate the evening.
